Escape from the Sea Serpent

Splash art illustration showcasing an epic escape from a sea serpent. When creating this image I really wanted to focus on the energy and the comedy expressed in the piece. Apart from this, the spherical quality of the glass in the car was inspired by the cars in the movie Meet the Robinsons.

Here are some of the character explorations I did for the piece. Ultimately I decided the character should be naive and high-spirited.

This is a sketch turnaround that I created to better understand the vehicle's form when rendering it in the final image.
